Whilst Summer doesn’t officially start in the UK until the 21st June, the weather recently certainly feels like it is well underway! The beautiful weather means walks in the countryside, reading a book in the sun, and parties in the garden.

As soon as the sun comes out, one of the first thoughts we have is to get the barbecue out and get friends and family round for a big summer party. However, there is a way to do it properly to ensure you and your loved ones have the best summer party possible.

Have Areas In Your Garden

If your garden is big enough, we would recommend that you have different areas in your garden. Think of your garden as 4 separate areas. One area should be for decking and seating. This will allow your family and friends to chill out and enjoy a few drinks with all of their loved ones. The New York 6 Seat Round Dining Set in Dove Grey is the best addition to make to your garden for a seating area.

Then, plan out a space where you can play games. Some popular games to play in the garden is football, bowls, darts, and much more. So many memories can be made playing in the garden with your friends and family.

Then create a space where people can relax. Our range of outdoor sun loungers allows your guests to sit back and enjoy the sun. Having a quiet place in your garden can help people take a break from socialising and recharge their social battery.

Finally, create an area where food and drinks can be stocked. Food and drinks are at the heart of a great party! Whether it be a barbeque or a buffet, creating its own distinct space in your garden, it avoids the possibility of it being knocked over or destroyed in any way.

 Choose a Theme

A themed party always goes down great! Themed parties are exceptionally great when you have a wide range of friendship groups meeting for the first time, as it helps break the ice. Some of the best themes for a party include the 80s, characters from TV shows and films, and music icons. Those ideas are just some of our favourites but feel free to get creative with them.

A themed party always creates so much laughter, and your garden will be the location where so many memories are made.

If you are not fond of a clothing theme, why not redecorate your garden so it fits a theme? Think of decorating your garden so it looks like the beach! Obviously, we don’t expect you to buy multiple bags of sand; instead, think of playing tidal waves over a speaker, get some towels, and lie down to enjoy the relaxing sounds.

Think Carefully About the Start Time

The vast majority of the time, us Brits see the sun and want to throw a party as soon as possible! Whilst this is a completely normal thought to have, it is not always the most practical.

We don’t recommend starting your party at noon, although this is when the sun is at its peak height, it often means that the party ends too early, or you have lots of late comers. We recommend starting your party at 3-4 pm, this way you still feel the heat of the sun and can see the party into the evening.

Another benefit of starting your party a little later is that there is most likely to be an area of your garden that is shaded. Not all of us enjoy being outside in the sun for too long, as it may cause some people to feel uncomfortable. By having a shaded area, you are accommodating other people's needs.

Create a Party Vibe

People often overthink their summer parties, but you don’t have to do anything out of the ordinary! Perhaps you have little ones that you have hosted birthday parties for; take inspiration from them!

Purchase some balloons and tie them to trees, fences, window handles, etc. Also be sure to purchase some banners, or even better, create them yourself.

By creating the perfect party vibe, you can be sure that your guests will be able to relax and fully enjoy your party.

Here at eFurn, we have many great ranges that are perfect for your garden, which will help you accommodate your party guests. Make sure to incorporate our tips to create the best summer party your guests have ever been to!
