Our bed frames start at £269 and run from single through to king size, in oak, mango wood, metal and upholstered finishes. Whether you are furnishing a new home, upgrading a main bedroom or fitting a bed into a small room, the range covers it.
If storage is the priority, our ottoman beds lift on a gas strut to reveal a full-footprint compartment under the mattress, which takes spare bedding, pillows or out-of-season clothes. Our under bed drawers do the same job on a frame you already own. For children sharing a room, our bunk beds free up floor space and most split into two separate single beds later, so the frame is not outgrown in two years.
Our oak beds are made from North American white oak, with tongue-and-groove bases and backs rather than stapled panels. That construction is the difference between a frame that stays square and one that develops a creak. We also carry ranges from Julian Bowen and Dorset, both known for consistent build quality across a whole bedroom set.
Before ordering, measure the room and not just the bed. A double frame is 4ft 6in wide but you need clearance to walk past it and to open wardrobe doors, and you need to check that the frame will physically get up the stairs and round the landing. Frame dimensions are on each product page.
Most of our beds are supplied as a frame only, so you will need a mattress in the matching size. What Are UK Bed Sizes?
A UK single is 3ft (90cm) wide, a small double is 4ft (120cm), a double is 4ft 6in (135cm), a king is 5ft (150cm) and a super king is 6ft (180cm). Standard length for single and double is 6ft 3in (190cm). Check the exact frame dimensions on the product page, as the outer frame is wider than the mattress.
Do Your Beds Come With a Mattress?
Most are supplied as a frame only, so you will need a mattress in the matching size. Where a mattress is included, it is stated on the product page. Bunk beds and mid sleepers usually need a shallower mattress than a standard frame, so check the maximum depth listed before buying.
Why Should I Have a Bed Frame?
A frame keeps the mattress off the floor, which lets air circulate underneath and reduces the moisture and mould that builds up when a mattress sits directly on a solid surface. It also gives the mattress even support across slats, which helps it hold its shape for longer.
How Often Should I Replace My Mattress?
Every 6 to 8 years for most mattresses, depending on quality, how often it is slept on and whether it has been cared for. A mattress protector and turning or rotating it regularly will extend its life. If you can feel the springs or see a permanent dip, replace it sooner.
Will the Bed Fit Up My Stairs?
Beds are delivered flat-packed in boxes rather than assembled, so the constraint is the largest single box rather than the finished bed. Package dimensions are listed on each product page. If you have a tight turn on a landing or a narrow stairwell, check those figures before ordering.
